The ZTE Optik 7″ Tablet On its Way to the Now Network?
ZTE is said to be the second largest telecom manufacturer and ranked 4th as the world’s largest mobile phone manufacturer. While you may never recognize the company in your carriers retail stores they are here and pushing excellent devices like the Chaser and Venture with Virgin mobile. The At&t Avail is also a recent device that ZTE has manufactured. In most cases when a ZTE model comes state side it is never advertised as being ZTE, but usually takes on the carriers name as if they are responsible for its birth. The ZTE Optik may change all that….
The ZTE Optik is rumored to making its way toward the Sprint spectrum at a super affordable price. SprintFeed.Com, the site dedicated to all things on the Now Network has leaked some juicy details surrounding this new tablet. Earlier this month the site exposed some internal Sprint documents that show the EOL (end of life) details surrounding the Blackberry Playbook and EVO View 4G. But what could they possibly be making room for? Well rumor has it the ZTE Optik. The ZTE Optik while seemingly shooting out of nowhere has ended up on an internal document that exposes some of its greatness. And the greatest point of interest…its price. The Optik is said to run you about $99.99 on a new two year contract while its original MSRP price states $349.99. So what can you expect for one hundred bucks? The Optik runs with a midsized screen that clocks in at 7 inches, while there are no details on its resolution its assumed (at least by me) that it will be pretty standard, or toward the lower end. Internally however, the Optik is not all that bad. It will run with the power of Android version 3.2 or Honeycomb and get its go from a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. Allowing its processes to run as smooth as possible is 1GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory. Other details slap a impressively large 4000 mAh battery inside. Around back a 5 mega pixel camera is provided for your primary shooting, while upfront a 2 mega pixel shooter plays host your video conferencing or realistically yourself portraits. The Optik is also said to be able to provide a 3G Mobile Hotspot that can connect up to 5 different devices. Include a set of stereo speakers and Bluetooth compatibility and you have a well rounded, super affordable 7 inch tablet. The Optik, according to the picture is slated to release on a direct shipment basis starting February 5th, and will find its way into retail locations come March 11th.
