The ZTE Grand S Becomes Official
As the floor opens at CES details on goodies come to light. As companies show off their latest wares, it looks like ZTE has moved into the light. In the last few months rumors, leaks and small details about ZTE’s handheld future have leaked out onto the interwebs and while most of the details were spot on, the ZTE Grand S is indeed real and coming soon. ZTE is not necessarily a well known brand. The company has produced many solid smart phones that usually adopt a carrier name as to claim it theirs. The latest from the company is set to brand ZTE as a go to manufacturer when shopping for new phones and gadgets. Let’s take an official look at the ZTE Grand S shall we?
The ZTE Grand S rumors started back in mid December when rendered pictures of the device leaked across the web and were backed by ZTE’s own blog entry. Additional confirmation was standing in the open when the CES events schedule was released. But yesterday, the ZTE Grand S became official. The new ZTE Grand S is bolstered as “the world’s thinnest within 5 inch FHD quad-core smartphones”. Measuring in at 6.9 mm thin, the Grand S is indeed a rather slim device. But its what’s inside that matters! The Grand S comes with a 5 inch 1920×1080 HD touch screen that offers up an awesome resolution at 441 pixels per inch! The internal battery will most likely have end users searching for more as it clocks in at a mere 1780 mAh. Internally this new ZTE flagship will get its go from a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro system chip, that offers up quad cores at 1.7 GHz. Add in an unspecified GPU, 2 GB of RAM, 16 GB of internal storage and expandable micro SDHC memory and the Grand S is shaping up nicely. Around back of this new phablet is a 13 mega pixel camera with full 1080p HD video recording, as well as a front facing shooter that sports a 2 mega pixel sensor. Additional connectivity can be had with GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, MicroUSB 2.0, Dolby Digital surround sound, 4G LTE and of course you’ll gain access to all this awesome with the likes of Android 4.1.
Pricing and availability stateside on the ZTE Grand S is yet to be announced, however the new oversized flagship will be made available for purchase in China in the first quarter of 2013.
