Windows Phone 7 Almost Here: Samsung’s Omnia 7 Shows up in Video
Windows Phone 7—Microsoft’s latest stab at a mobile operating system—is set to be officially announced next week. While the new OS isn’t quite ‘official’ yet, it is a done deal. One of the first smartphones to launch with Windows Phone 7 (WP7) will be the Samsung Omnia 7 and it has just been spotted on video.
The Omnia 7 is also called the GT-i8700 and will be launching through AT&T. Little is known about the smartphone apart from its 8 GB of internal storage and 4” touchscreen. Since it will be one of the first WP7 smartphones to launch, Samsung has a big load to shoulder here. Microsoft is betting on WP7 to get it back into the smartphone market and if the Omnia 7 flops, it might just spell doom for the platform before it ever really has a chance.
Check out the video below (the phone in the video is set to French by the way):
Like what you see? It looks fairly intuitive to use, but of course, we’ll have to wait until we actually get our hands on one to decide that. Let me know if you are interested in the Omnia 7, WP7 and are willing to give Microsoft and Samsung a chance.AT&T, Samsung Omnia 7, Microsoft, WP7, Windows Mobile
