The White Samsung SkyRocket Coming to Ma’Bell
If you haven’t noticed Samsung since last year has been on a tour of the galaxies. With the launch of the original Galaxy S line of course comes the much improved follow up the Galaxy S II line. As in both generations there are the flagships and then there are devices like the Continuum from the first generation and devices like the Infuse 4G from the GSII generation. Another impressive device that lurks in that category is the recently announced – deep breath –Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket. This device is amazingly nice and could and maybe should share the lime light with the other more well known GSII devices.
As the LTE build out continues At&t has joined the fray. As the network gets stronger At&t introduced the HTC Vivid and the Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket as their first 4G LTE enabled devices. While the Skyrocket made its official appearance at the end of October it seems that Samsung is falling into that sheepish model they so delightfully poke fun at and are pushing out a new white version of the phone. Speedier or more powerful it is not, an excellently beautiful piece of technology it surely is. This new white Samsung Skyrocket is slated to become available to At&t users come December 4th and reportedly to Bell and T-Mobile in the near future. If you are unfamiliar with the Skyrocket, it is a very nice piece of hardware and of course a super power amongst the infantry of smart phones. The Skyrocket no matter what color it sports measures in with a 4.5 inch Super AMOLED Plus that sports a 480×800 pixel resolution. The Skyrocket uses Android version 2.3.6 and will surely be updated to ICS in time. You can of course include its super fast 4G speeds thanks to its LTE connectivity. Deeper in the Skyrocket you’ll find a super fast and highly powerful 1.5 GHz dual core processor that is backed by 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Added memory can come in the form of microSD or microSDHC memory up to 32GB. The camera on the Skyrocket comes in at an 8 mega pixel rating that is backed by an LED flash and sports details like panorama, smile detection and auto focus modes. This same camera as you expect can record video in both 1080p and 720p. An additional front facing shooter measures in at 2 mega pixels. Other details give you microUSB, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n/a, Bluetooth 3.0 and HDMI connectivity. The Skyrocket is an excellent smart phone that for some odd reason seems to be a bit better in its excellent white build. What’s your take?
