Virgin Mobile Enters the Dark Side of 4G With the EVO V 4G

When the original HTC EVO 4G released, it was like a breath of fresh smart phone air, its build fantastic, its connectivity, super fast. The EVO was so good in fact that four variations and a tablet were built around its success. The EVO 3D was the second EVO flagship in the line and for good reason. As the latest version of the EVO is on its way to the market place, it looks as if Sprint will be sharing the EVO wealth with its cohorts. Virgin Mobile is getting its very own EVO and it is called the EVO V 4G. Essentially an EVO 3D, just without all that pesky 3D technology!

Sprint launched their WiMax 4G technologies, in seemingly a marketing effort to be the first carrier with 4G data speeds. The plan worked, however the long term benefits of LTE 4G technologies has outweighed the companies WiMax efforts and an LTE push is under way at the Now Network.  With Sprint’s shift to LTE currently underway, you would assume WiMax technologies would be taken out to the pasture and put down, but not quite. Virgin Mobile and Boost Mobile are both prepaid ‘sister’ carriers to the company and will now be dabbling in the likes of WiMax 4G! Virgin Mobile customers are you ready for 4G? The first 4G device to hit the prepaid carrier is the redesigned EVO 3D. It is called the EVO V 4G and its awesome! Technically the EVO V 4G is the same as the EVO 3D. It still sports the same 4.3 inch qHD 3D capable screen and two rear facing 5 mega pixel cameras. Internally the EVO V 4G will get its go from a dual core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor that gets some graphics  help from a Adreno 220 GPU. It comes with 1GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Expandable micro SD options allow for up to 32 GB of space. Additionally the EVO V 4G will carry a front facing 1.3 mega pixel camera. The best part, the EVO V 4G will ship with Android version 4.0.3 out of the box and will be skinned with HTC Sense 3.6. The EVO V 4G will be available to Virgin Mobile customers come May 31st at the low cost of $299.
