US Cellular launches the HTC Desire August 27
US Cellular has just announced some good news. While checking out their website, it seems that the carrier does not carry an HTC made Android phone. Well ‘times a changing’ the company is scheduled to receive a very powerful HTC Android in the next few weeks. US Cellular customers rejoice!
The HTC Desire is comparable to the likes of the Google Nexus One and the HTC Incredible. The Desire and Nexus are almost identical phones with few differences. We should all know by now that the Nexus is no longer available for consumer consumption so what’s the next best option? An HTC Desire of course. US Cellular is currently ranked at number 6 amongst the nation’s leaders in the wireless service industry. The Desire is an amazing device and we are sure that US Cellular is ecstatic about this pick up, the Desire shares the same specs as the Nexus, but in case you forgot, check it out. The Desire runs a 3.7 inch AMOLED WVGA touch screen display, 5-megapixel camera, GPS, 512MB ROM and 576MB RAM, 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, up to 32GB external memory expansion, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and a 1400 mAh battery.
The announcement of the Desire making it to US Cellular has been circulating since back in April and has actually missed its first release time frame of July due to testing. But it looks like they have tested the Desire for their network and are ready to drop it on August 27th. The pricing for the new US Cellular Desire has yet to be confirmed but will most likely be between $100 to $200, obviously depending on the length of your new contract.
