The Google Nexus 5 Spotted in the Wild and Other Launch Rumors Surface
The LG made Google Nexus 5 gets spotted in the real world, again! The news surrounding the next generation Nexus smart phone has been slow to say the least. This of course compared to the likes of the new iPhones and Samsung’s Note 3. It was easily assumed the device would again be made by LG but Google’s new found ownership of Motorola easily allowed doubt of LG taking on the project for obvious reasons. Fast forward to just a few weeks back and the LG Nexus 5 as it is being called is all but official.
The LG made Nexus 5 first appeared earlier this month when Google announced the new name of its next generation operating system, KitKat. The company if you didn’t know puts statues of their new operating system on their company’s lawn. Video of this event revealed the device as employees rushed to the ceremonies to snap some pictures with their new Nexus. Shortly after it’s on campus appearance the LG D821 as it’s called appeared within the regulatory halls of the FCC. Just one day after the device was spotted at the FCC, LG went and ‘accidentally’ published pictures of the Nexus 5 GD820 amongst other snaps of the Verizon bound G2. Today however new pictures of the Nexus 5 in the wild and new speculation about its release date have hit the wire. New rumor of the devices launch date have come out of Ausdroid.Net and proclaim Google will announce the LG made Nexus 5 running the latest version of Android 4.4 aka Kitkat on October 14th. Other outlets have also spotted Nexus 5 accessories that will not be available until October 31st. The cherry on top is the Nexus 4 was recently put on sale and all variations of the device are currently sold out and sources claim Google has no plans on re-stocking the handset. Additionally, new pictures of the Nexus 5 in the wild have hit the headlines today as the device was found left behind at a bar, pictured and even caught on video of the finder attempting to get past the pattern lock. Check out the video below and we’ll be sure to let you know if anything new develops surrounding the Nexus 5 and we have a feeling it will.
