Existing T-Mobile customers: Pre-orders for the G2 start today
Ahh the G2. The HTC G2 has been put through the ringer many a times. It has been dragged through the rumor mill just as any likely candidate should. Spy pics, Spec sheet rumors etc etc. However today brings us one step closer to the actual release of the device and you can almost hear the faint cheers from the G1 users who have been patiently waiting in the wings. The question remains however, will G1 users adopt the new G2.
If you are an existing customer to T-Mobile you are now able to pre order the G2. Starting today the G2 via T-MO has gone on pre-order sale for existing customers only. The pre-order sale will last until October 4th. Shortly after the 4th, October 6th the G2 will be on sale to the general public. The T-Mobile G2 will be priced at $250 with a $50 dollar mail in rebate, I’m no math wiz, but that puts this highly acclaimed G2 at $200 bucks. If you are an existing customer get your user name and password ready and hit up G2.T-Mobile.Com to get your pre-order on.
But what’s in it for you? Well if you haven’t been tagging along with the G2 saga, lets insert a little refresher here. The G2 is a HSPA+ device that runs Google’s own Android 2.2 or Froyo if you like desert. Better than that folks there is no “skin” over the top of the Android platform. It’s just raw dog Android OS, think Nexus One for example. The G2 comes equipped with an 800 MHz Scorpion processor and Adobe Flash 10.1. Other cool features are the dedicated quick keys, oh and did I mention that it is the first HSPA+ device for the company. If you’re unfamiliar you won’t be for long, I promise, but that simply translates into “FAST”.
So go get your pre order on and tell us how you like your new G2. Oh but if you can wait, Radio Shack is offering up the G2 at 149.99 with a new two year contract, via an instant rebate. Let us know what you think of the new HSPA+ G2 from T-Mobile.HTC, Google, Android, Froyo, HSPA+
