Sprint offers up Free Lunch with Your 4G in LA on Cyber Monday

Sprint is trying to keep its 4G momentum going and has just announced that it will offer free lunch in Los Angeles and Orange County to kick off Cyber Monday. The free lunches will be provided through lunch trucks—Larden, NomNom, Dan Dan BBQ and Louks Greek Gourment—from 11AM to 2PM. Don’t worry, I’ve got how Sprint is tying this into its 4G network launch and the details on how you can snag some free food.

Time, Locations and Info for Sprint’s Free 4G Lunch:

When—Monday, November 29th 2010 between 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM

  • NomNom Truck: Corner of Olympic and Bundy, Santa Monica, CA
  • Lardon: Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandise (Hope and 9th), downtown Los Angeles, CA
  • Dan Dan BBQ: Orange County TBD
  • Louks Greek Gourmet: Corner of W. Chapman Ave. and Harbor Blvd., Anaheim, CA

Each of the lunch trucks will be equipped with 4G (WiMax) hotspots and you are invited to connect to them via Wi-Fi to see just how fast the network is. If you’re lucky enough to own a 4G enabled phone from Sprint like the Samsung Epic 4G or the HTC Evo 4G, Sprint will be officially launching its 4G network in Southern California on or around December 1st.

Sprint already has 4G coverage in 62 markets including Merced, Modesto and Sacramento in CA. The company is proudly proclaiming that it has the first national 4G network in the country and download speeds are advertised in the 3-6 Mbps range.

Executives from Sprint will also be on hand to explain the company’s 4G WiMax network and what it means for LA and Orange County. A lucky few will even get to test Sprint’s network “on the street.” Long story short, if you want some free food and are interested in 4G, head over this coming Monday and snag some. You’ll also have a chance to see what the 4G hubbub is about and can test 4G performance by connecting your current smartphone to Wi-Fi at the trucks. Since the trucks are mobile, they have their own 4G hotspots from Sprint and your testing should give you an idea of what to expect.

You in CA and going to check out the event? Let me know!
