Sprint Epic 4G gets an update
So if you have picked up a Sprint Epic 4G you are most likely really satisfied with your purchase. From what I understand it is a pretty amazing device. Good old Android 2.1, Super AMOLED, 1GHz processor, 5MP camera, 720p, upload speeds of 150kbps…what? Yes, if you own an Epic 4G and have ever attempted to upload something to the interwebs, well you may have come across this issue. The spec listing on the device was said to run at around 1.8Mbps up and well 150kbps is a long ways off.
After the initial launch of the Epic 4G end users began to experience these hiccups. Amongst other issues this was seemingly being addressed in a recent update. Unfortunately it seems it may have taken Sprint a little while longer to work the kinks out, well consider your Epic pressed and ready for the big show. After the issue was discovered and exposed, a post of the issue was made within Sprints forums. This thread has grown to Epic proportions –pun intended – and has recently received its answer. dshoem01 an Administrator within the Sprint community has stated the following;
“Good news – an update will be released tomorrow 9/30. It will be rolled out over a 4 day period so not everyone will get it on day 1″
“I will have the standard MR information (fixes included, rollout schedule, etc) available tomorrow morning and will post it in a new featured thread”
So starting tomorrow it seems that an update will indeed be rolled out to address this issue. Will it install a place to buy TV shows and movies instead, we will have to wait and see. If you are an Epic user let us know what type of upload speeds you get, and be sure to test it out after the update!upload speed, Froyo, update, Android, Sprint
