Sony Ericsson commits to Android update for Xperia X10
Sony Ericsson has recently launched their first Android phone, and with good reason. The numbers on the Android market are staggering, one cannot blame Sony Ericsson for coming out of there proprietary state of mind to keep up with the market. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 is as of late renowned as the best device the company has ever released, the promise of this Android upgrade would lead one to believe Sony Ericsson is aware of this.
The Xperia X10 initially shipped with the Android v1.6 operating system, reportedly Sony Ericsson has recently promised full OS support on the X10 devices. With this promise the Xperia X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro users could be expecting to upgrade to the Android v2.1 before the end of Q4. While the Android 1.6v is more than capable of preforming up to par, the users will be happy to know there are a couple other updates included. The promised update is also giving the X10 users a hefty update to their HD video recording capabilities, providing a performance upgrade taken out of there ever powerful Vivaz.
Sony Ericsson has committed to the Xperia X10 line up and stated that they will continue to offer OS updates as needed/available. Sounds like Sony has found a device they believe in, not surprising as the Xperia X10 is amazing model and will most likely be used for some time to come. With the commitment in mind most hardcore Sony Ericsson users are wondering how much longer of a wait would it be for the Android v2.2, seems that with the Sony Ericsson promise I’m assuming it would be sooner than later, but I guess only time will tell.
