Sony Announces the Xperia E1 and Xperia T2 Ultra
Sony announces the Xperia T2 Ultra and the Xperia E1. Just as the commotion that is CES comes to an end Sony decides it’s time to announce two new handsets. These two new devices would have been welcome additions to the announcements at the show, however Sony must have thought the T2 Ultra and E1 would have stolen the show? While it’s completely possible, Sony kept to the flagships during the show announcing the Z1 Compact and Z1S models. Whatever the reasoning for the delayed launch, the T2 Ultra and E1 are here, but what can we expect from them?
Today Sony took the wraps off of two new devices that sit well in the mid range category. The Xperia T2 Ultra starts with the likes of Android version 4.3 and gives it to its end users via 6 inch TFT touch screen that offers up a 720×1280 pixel resolution. Internally the T2 Ultra packs in a more than capable Qualcomm made Snapdragon MSM8928 system chip that comes with a quad-core 1.4 GHz processor. Additionally it comes with graphics processing, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage and expandable micro SD memory options up to 32 GB. Add in a 3000 mAh battery, a 13 mega pixel camera, GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, micro USB, NFC, DLNA and MHL and that about sums up the Xperia T2 Ultra. The Xperia E1 was also announced just hours ago and while it is a bit under spec’ed compared to the T2 it seems to be a solid new entry level smart phone. The E1 also starts with the likes of Android version 4.3. The devices screen measures in at 4 inches and come packing a 480×800 resolution. Underneath the screen we find a Qualcomm made MSM8210 system chip that comes running a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, Adreno 302 GPU, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of storage and expandable micro SD memory options. Additionally the E1 packs in a 1700 mAh battery, a 3 mega pixel camera, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and micro USB. Unfortunately pricing and availability has yet to be addressed with these two devices however we would imagine they will begin popping up for sale rather soon.
