A Samsung Stratosphere 2 Enters the Rumor Mill…Again
Samsung is one of those companies that gets on a roll with new products and keeps the legacy going just about as long as they can. There’s nothing wrong with milking a willing cow right? Right around a year ago, in September Samsung took to the market with the SCH-i405 handset which was otherwise known as the Stratosphere and later seen on U.S. Cellular as the Galaxy Metrix. The device was set as a mid tier handset and offered up middle of the road spec’s at entry level prices. A new year in mobile has perpetuated the industry and it looks like the Stratosphere is coming back for round two!
A successful launch and campaign leads to part twos and the original Stratosphere obviously solidified its legacy. The latest version of the Stratosphere popped up in the rumor mill toward the end of last week by the now infamous @EVLEAKS twitter handle. Previously the Stratosphere 2 as it’s called was spotted within Verizon’s internal Equipment Guide. Otherwise known as the SCH-i415 the Stratosphere 2 looks to be getting a bit closer to launch, unfortunately however details on its specs’ have stayed the same since its original leak about two months ago. With new picture of the device we do indeed get a better idea as what to expect. What is known and expected from the Samsung Stratosphere is 4G LTE connectivity from Verizon, a 1.5 GHz dual core Snapdragon S4 processor, 1 GB of RAM a 4 inch Super AMOLED HD touch screen display and an 8 mega pixel rear facing camera and of course a full slide out QWERTY keyboard. Additionally the Stratosphere 2 will run with the likes of Android version 4.0 aka Ice Cream Sandwich and will come skinned with Samsung’s infamous TouchWiz user interface. Unfortunately for anyone interested this is where the buck stops on the Stratosphere 2. As more leaks and details surface however it is widely expected to be seen on market shelves in the very near future.
