Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 Hits Retail Shelves Nationwide tomorrow
The Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 was made official back in February at Samsung’s MWC event. Initially there were rumors of the Galaxy Tab 10.1 being delayed as a redesign was needed in light of the then recently unveiled iPad 2. While those rumors were ultimately denied, it seems maybe Samsung should have gone back to the drawing board, as they are facing a good ol’ fashioned court battle with Apple over the design of their new tab and some of their phones. Nonetheless the Galaxy Tab 10.1 is here and is quite possibly the only true iPad 2 contender available today. A Wi-Fi only version of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 has been on sale in New York City’s Union Square Best Buy location since June 8th and will hit the market nationwide starting tomorrow. So is it the tab for you?
First and foremost the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 pricing falls in line with its major competitor (you know who) at $499 for the 16 GB model and $599 for the 32 GB version. I guess I’ll start the specs listing with the 1 GHz dual core Nvidia Tegra processor and its super large 7000 mAh battery which should yield you about 9 solid hours of use. Good place to start huh? But it gets better. The Galaxy Tab 10.1 will come fully equipped with Android version 3.1 or Honeycomb for those keeping track of their deserts. The screen is as expected 10.1 and comes in the WXGA flavor and sports a 1280 x 800 pixel resolution for some crispy clean visuals. The 10.1 tab also sports two cameras. The rear facing camera will shoot your special moments at 8 mega pixels, while the front facing camera comes in at an impressive 2 mega pixels. Due to the dual cores and some software magic the rear facing camera can record video in full 1080p HD. You can also expect excellent enterprise solutions so your new 10.1 tab can meet those IT guidelines. All the other standards can also be expected such as Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n connectivity, Bluetooth version 2.1, GPS and oh yea 16 GB of internal memory. All of these amazing features pack into a a super small frame that weighs in at only 21.13 ounces. Simply put the Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 is a true competitor to the any available tablet on the market.
But will you be getting one? Sound off let us know what you think of the new Galaxy Tab 10.1. Will this be your new or even first tablet? I know I’m considering it.Galaxy Tab, 10.1, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, release
