The Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II Becomes Official
The Samsung Stratosphere was launched back in the early winter months of last year. The device was a solid mid to low end smart phone with a sliding QWERTY and the likes of Android version 2.3. While the Stratosphere was not the a top of the totem pole when it comes to power and processing, it was one of those devices that gave us insight to how powerful the mid and low range will be in the years to come. Fast forward to the present and the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere II is making its way into reality.
The Samsung Stratosphere II has been floating around the rumor mill for a while now and it has now become official. While details surrounding the device have not changed it’s good to know an affordable QWERTY keyboard LTE equipped smart phone is in the pipe line. A press release has recently been published announcing the new handset’s destiny in Verizon red. An official launch date is scheduled for the “coming weeks” and its price point is set at $130 bucks after a fifty dollar mail in rebate. With that rather affordable price tag you can firstly expect an awesomely thin (for slider) 13mm QWERTY keyboard slider with the likes of Android version 4.0 and Verizon’s super fast LTE connectivity. The Galaxy Stratosphere starts with a 4 inch Super AMOLED touch screen that offers a 480×800 resolution at 233 pixels per inch. Internally it comes packing a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus System Chip that uses dual cores and clocks in at 1.2 GHz. You can also expect some awesome gaming and graphics intensive processing as the Stratosphere II packs in a Adreno 225 GPU. Add in 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and expandable microSDHC up to 32GB you have a perfectly capable smart phone. But this new Galaxy has a couple more features, including a 5 mega pixel camera, with 1080p HD video recording as well as a front facing 1.3 mega pixel shooter. Additional connectivity for the Samsung Galaxy Stratosphere comes from the likes of Bluetooth version 4.0, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, micro USB 2.0, tethering and TV Out capabilities. All in all the Stratosphere is back to offer up an awesome smart phone option at an affordable price.
