Samsung Announces the Galaxy S III Mini Value Edition in the Netherlands

A new Samsung Galaxy S III Mini emerges onto store shelves. Just when you thought the Galaxy S3 was gone forever…Samsung brings it back! The Samsung Galaxy S3 in its original or mini form has not been seen or heard from in quite some time. The S3 however was the first Samsung handset to receive a mini make over and ultimately spawn the dawn of the minis. The company is not done with the S3 however, even as the Galaxy S5 takes the limelight and the S4 move into the bargain bin, the S3 is getting made into an S3 Mini Value Edition.

Samsung’s original Galaxy S III Mini was one of the first flagship monikers to take move down in the totem pole and become a mini device. The mini device idea then took off with a handful of other manufactures joining in. the S3 Mini Value Edition however is indeed an odd ball out. As the S5 has just been announced and will slowly be making its own high and low end variations this Value Edition S3 Mini seems like an afterthought. Samsung breathed life back into the S3 Mini in the Netherlands this weekend by launching the S3 Mini Value Edition. The S3 Mini Value is indeed an S3 Mini however internally the device comes with a 1.2 Ghz processor which is up from the original’s 1 GHz chip set. The handset will also come running with Android version 4.2 aka Jelly Bean where as the original S3 Mini is stuck at Android 4.1 indefinitely. The rest of the spec sheet on the new value edition is basically the same. It comes with a 4 inch touch screen with a 480×800 pixel resolution, a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash and camcorder, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of storage as well as expandable micro SD memory options. Add in GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-fi and your left with the S3 Mini Value! Pricing in the Netherlands will be set at €181 any takers?
