Samsung’s Galaxy S II gets a leaky Sprint preview – silly name in tow
It’s that time of year again folks. There are two parts of the year that are usually amazing for new high powered mobile phones. Summer and the ‘Holiday seasons are usually the best times of the year for improvements to the mobile playing field. From the Photon 4G, to the EVO 3D Sprint has been bulking up their super phone line up pretty nicely. However the long awaited Galaxy S II from Samsung has been lurking in the US shadows for a few months now. A leaky picture of Galaxy S II with Sprint branding has come into the light and I for one am pretty excited.
The Galaxy S II is currently making its international rounds and blowing the doors off of any competitor in its wake. Most anyone one that has read its tech specs or has had a chance to go hands on know the Galaxy S II is the Android beast of the summer. Of course as the Galaxy S II makes its way to the shores of our great land it will be made into a least 4 different variations for each of the major carriers within the US boundaries. If you remember the Vibrant, Fascinate, Epic 4G and Captivate were the one offs of the original Galaxy S. The pictures and details you see before you come from the latest in blurry leaks via This is My Next. These initial shots expose a candy bar shaped design that looks very similar to the current Galaxy S II as well as the ‘dumbed’ down version in what the Infuse 4G is. The back of the new Sprint branded Galaxy S II obviously rocks Sprint branding, but also sports a textured battery cover with a center mounted 8 mega pixel camera. The new device is rumored to be called the Galaxy Within come launch time. When is launch time? Well according to This Is My Next could be as soon as the next couple of days or weeks. Internally if the carrier versions of the Galaxy S II will fall in line with the original, we can expect a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, Samsungs Super AMOLED Plus display as well as Android version 2.3 or higher.
Sound good? Hopefully none of your Sprint customers jumped at the EVO 3D too soon as this would be an excellent non 3D alternative. So let us know what you think of the new Sprint Galaxy Within. Sound off in the comments and let us know what you think of “carrier version” of these epic Galaxy devices.Galaxy Within, samsung galaxy, Galaxy S II, galaxy, Sprint
