Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 Launches at Boost Mobile
Boost Mobile and Samsung announce the Galaxy Prevail 2. The original Samsung Galaxy Prevail was announced and subsequently launched about two years ago in April of 2011. The first generation Galaxy Prevail was one of the very first CDMA based Android devices to hit the pre-paid sector and it now seems it’s time for round two. While the Prevail series handsets are not the highest of end smart phones they do positions themselves in the entry level to mid range niche quite nicely. Today the pairing is offering up its latest Prevail, the Galaxy Prevail 2. Let’s see what’s improved!
The new Samsung Galaxy Prevail 2 starts with a rather familiar shape and design cues. The handset takes on a shape that is reminiscent of most Galaxy devices launched recently and center mounts its physical home button between a touchy back and menu key. The Prevail 2 starts with a 4 inch WVGA touch screen that gives its end users access to the latest in Android version 4.1 Jelly Bean and it built around a 12.7mm thin build. Internally the device will come packing a more than capable 1.4 GHz processor and microSD memory options up to 64 GB. Additionally the Prevail 2 will pack in GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, and of course 3G data speeds. Around back of the Prevail 2 we’ll find a 5 mega pixel camera while a 1.3 mega pixel shooter can be found running up front. The handset is also expected to ship with a 1750 mAh battery that should offer up to 8 hours of talk time. The last bit of awesome about the Prevail 2 is the device is a qualified “green machine” by the independent UL Environment as it “contains environmentally preferable materials with a minimal environmental impact”. The Galaxy Prevail 2 is currently up for grabs from the no contacts carrier and will cost interested parties $179.99 with no agreement or tie downs.
