The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite makes its way through the halls of the FCC
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Lite makes its way through the halls of the FCC. Surprise, surprise another Samsung device is making its way to market! Samsung seemingly more than others have a tendency to pump out device after device. A quick second to brethe and before you know it, another Samsung handheld. Recently however we’ve seen a Lite trend from the manufacturer which has produced the likes of the Galaxy Note Lite and the Galaxy Tab 3 Lite but as this is surely going to be a new series of devices the Lite’s can’t stop their right?
The Samsung Galaxy Grand first appeared back in 2012 and was essentially a mid ranged Galaxy S3. The device also appeared in a dual SIM variation and made its way around the world, then just a few months ago in November the Galaxy Grand was succeeded by the Galaxy Grand 2. Early this month details surrounding the next generation Grand surfaced to the top of the rumor mill suggesting Samsung would be producing a Lite variation of the handset. Today those rumors have all but been confirmed by the likes of government regulation. The Galaxy Grand Lite, aka the GT-I9060 has made its way through the halls of the FCC and is clear on its way to becoming a real phone. Unfortunately the specifics surrounding the handsets are unknown. The FCC documents don’t give much insight into what can be expected of the Grand Lite outside of it being a “phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth”. Previous rumors however give us the juicy details we seek! According to the rumor mill this handset will start with a 5 inch WVGA touch screen that offers a 480×800 pixel resolution. Internally the Grand Lite is said to come packing a more than capable 1.2 GHz quad-core processor, 1 GB of RAM and expandable micro SD memory. Add in dual SIM functionality, a 5 mega pixel rear facing camera and a VGA quality front facing shooter and you are left with the Galaxy Grand Lite. Previous information also suggest the new device will be offered up in a few color variations including orange, lime green and midnight black. The Lite line up is expected to be official unveiled at either CES or MWC in the coming months, so we’ll keep you posted.
