The Samsung Galaxy Axiom Enters the US Cellular Fold
The Samsung Galaxy train is still full steam ahead and shows no immediate signs of slowing. The Galaxy devices that Samsung have brought to prominence started with their flagship series devices and took off from there. In the past few years we have seen the Galaxy name apply to many devices ranging from the high end, to the mid or low end of the smart phone spectrum. Today, US Cellular and Samsung have teamed up again to announce and launch an additional mid range Galaxy device. Meet the, “self-evidently true” Samsung Galaxy Axiom.
Earlier this month the Samsung Galaxy Axiom appeared within the ranks of the rumor mill and was ousted by the infamous Twitter account @evleaks. The device surely carries an odd name and was “branded” by those interested as a Galaxy S3 Mini variant, and that, after reading its spec sheet is surely self evident. The new handset otherwise known as the SCH-R830 is now readily available to the public and starts anywhere from 0.01 cent aka free, to $79.99 bucks. The price variation is apparently depending on your location. Who knew! So what should you expect from the Axiom? Well, a subpar Galaxy S III of course. The design and aesthetic of the Axiom really does scream Mini S III, however exact dimensions are slightly different and in a few cases the Axiom is the better choice. The Axiom starts with a 4 inch touch screen that offers up a 480×800 pixel resolution at 233 pixels per inch. This suitable screen offers its end users to streamlined access and power over Android version 4.0. The Axiom, also packs in a 2100 mAh battery, which is slightly larger than the S3 Mini. Internally it runs a Qualcomm Snapdragon system chip with a dual core 1.2 GHz processor, 4GB of internal memory with expandable microSDHC support up to 32 GB. Around back we can expect a 5 mega pixel camera with LED flash and 720p video recording capabilities, a front facing 1.3 mega pixel shooter is also available. Additional connectivity can be found in the likes of 4G LTE, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 with all the profiles you’ll need, Wi-Fi, Hotspot, MicroUSB 2.0, DLNA, and NFC!
