Samsung’s Droid Charge will finally be available May 14th
The Samsung Droid Charge seemingly came out of left field to pique all of our interests. The initial launch of the Droid Charge was to commence April 28th. Right around the same time of this proposed launch Big Red’s LTE network suffered a major outage, while the delay of the Charge has not been confirmed; it’s assumed it was delayed because of this outage. The Droid Charge by Samsung is a very powerful phone that most were hoping did not suffer the same fate as the HTC Merge where Verizon will not even sell it themselves. Good news today puts the launch rumors to rest.
The Samsung Droid Charge is the newest member of Verizon’s 4G LTE lineup and is surely the phone to compare others to, in the same kind of way every new phone is compared to Apple’s iPhone. Scouring the interwebs looking for news and reviews, you will be hard pressed to find a reviewer or really anyone that has had their go at the Charge saying something negative about it. Just taking a gander at the specs, you will know this phone is a beast amongst simple monsters. Out of the gate the Droid Charge is using Verizon’s LTE network and is turning out download speeds up to 5 to 12 Mbps, which is super fast. Specs wise the Charge is fighting the good fight as well. The Droid Charge uses a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED screen that has a 480×800 pixel resolution. You can find Android version 2.2 as the running operating system, which is powered by a 1GHz and 512MB of RAM. Take pictures of your favorite moments with its 8 megapixel camera that can also record HD video in 720p, a front facing 1.3 megapixel camera is also evident to keep up with the Jones’s as well as provide video conferencing capabilities. You can also expect all the familiar features as well, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and expandable memory with its micro SD port that can take up to 32GB. All in all the Droid Charge is an amazing phone, only downside is all these features are a bit overpriced in comparison to already available competition. The Samsung Droid Charge will run you $299 on a new Big Red contract.
