Reuters Galleries Available for BlackBerry, IM+ Gets an Update to v8.5
Reuters has just released an interesting application for the BlackBerry Bold 9700, 9000, and Storm/Storm 2 smartphones. Called Reuters Galleries, the app gives you instant access to the news company’s entire vast array of picture galleries on everything form the BP spill to the FIFA World Cup. The app is free and available at r.reuters.com/kun39k. It is nice to see traditional news companies realize that information should be easily accessible and free for everyone. Run over and grab a copy now if you enjoy excellent photography.
In other news, SHAPE Services has updated its IM+ application to version 8.5 for BlackBerry. If you are unfamiliar with IM+, the app combines instant messaging services from multiple clients. Most of the changes have been to the user interface—it looks a lot smoother and lets be honest here, I would expect it because the program costs $39.95—but some other things have been added too. Namely, improved support in MSN and Skype for multichat, and an improved history for past conversations. Besides the updates, IM+ integrates into BlackBerry OS version 4.6 and higher, has speech recognition support so you can dictate instant messages, and implements push support to save your battery. The app is available at shapeservices.com, and be sure to check out the free lite version at the same place.
So, will you be checking out Reuters Galleries on your BlackBerry? A user of either the lite or full version of IM+? Interested in the update? Let me know.Galleries, app, IM+, BlackBerry, Reuters
