Pantech Announces the Vega Iron 2
Pantech introduces the Vega Iron 2! While not the most popular or well known brand Pantech is known for producing some rather excellent handsets across the globe. Normally when a Pantech made device finds its way stateside it is usually branded as an entry level or mid range device. While the Vega Iron 2 may never reach the states in any official capacity, it is now the top dog in the company’s line up. As the successor to the original Vega Iron the Iron 2 has some big shoes to fill, but by the looks and sounds of this new devices spec sheet it will fair just fine.
Way back in January details surrounding the Vega Iron 2 surfaced into the headlines. The details suggested that Pantech would be releasing the device in April and would be positioned to compete directly with the likes of Samsung’s Galaxy S5 and HTC M8. Today the company has officially announced the device. While it’s a month late according to its previous leak, better late than never right! The spec sheet for the Vega Iron 2 starts with a 5.3 inch 1080p full HD AMOLED touch screen that is built into an 7.9mm housing. Underneath its crystal clear screen we find a highly capable Qualcomm made Snapdragon 801 chipset that uses a 2.3 GHz quad core processor, 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of internal storage. Around back of its metal frame is a 13 mega pixel camera while a front facing 2 mega pixel sensor resides up front. Additionally the handset will offer up Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity as well as 4G LTE data speeds. Add in a super large 3220 mAh battery and you are left with the awesomeness that is the Pantech Vega Iron 2. Unfortunately he likely hood of this device making its way out of South Korea is slim to none, which is a shame as it’s a solid device with a premium build and high end specs.
