The Big Red Bound Pantech Perception Makes Its Way Through the Halls of the FCC
The Pantech Perception makes its way through the halls of the FCC, heading Big Red’s way! Way back in January at CES, At&t and Pantech teamed up to introduce the Pantech Discover. Not to be out done by their bitter rivals, Verizon struck a deal with Pantech to get their own variation of the Discover. Shortly after the convention the Verizon bound Pantech Perception appeared in the wild with a small press rendering and a few juicy details tagging along. Today new details get the Pantech Perception one step closer to a reality.
The new Pantech Perception has made its way through the halls of the FCC and is receiving its blessing from the fed’s to become an official consumer electronic here in the states. As the Perception made its way through its inspection a few pictures have been snapped. The pictures you see here of the Perception in its final state! While the words Verizon surprisingly do not appear on the handset, the iconic 4G LTE font on its battery door is indeed a tell all. The device is set to be an amazingly solid device with an awesome spec set and a mid range price point. While nothing is confirmed, the recent rumors and leaks surrounding the Perception give it a host of awesome. It is said to come with a 4.8 inch touch screen (or somewhere in that vicinity) just as the Discover and offer up a 720p HD resolution. Internally the Perception will come packing a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is expected to be the MSM8960 S4 flavor, additionally we should expect about 1 GB of RAM and of course 4G LTE connectivity. The Big Red bound Pantech Perception is rumored to launch toward the end of March, and be priced competitively to its rival, the Discover around the $50 dollar mark. A solid handset for a very low price point! The Perception is also expected to make an appearance at MWC in the coming days.
