Jelly Bean in Kid form? Meet the NTT DoCoMo Junior SH-05
Ever think your kid needs a powerful Android phone or just smart phone in general? Well, if you were living in the fast pace technological world of Japan, your answer could prove to be a simple, yes. Here stateside we like to dumb down the phones we pawn off as child friendly, but it looks like the folks at the Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo think differently about the their future customers and world leaders! As an open source operating system it’s easy to find Android in places it may seem redundant. But you pop Android in an awesome kid friendly handset and the future seems bright.
As children become more and more accustom and knowledgeable about the technology that surrounds them, it only seems right that a place for them on the consumer end is fitting. Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo has announced a new Android device that goes by the name of the Junior SH-05. The device is said to target 4th graders and up. It runs the latest in Android version 4.0 and offers a few layers of controllable security for parents. The security options allow guardians to manage minutes for voice calls, as well as data and access to emails and general internet browsing. Additionally the Junior SH-05 can filter adult content as well as impede access to certain applications. The best part is this phone, when it comes to specs is rather powerful, at least on paper. It comes with a touch screen of unknown size that offers up a qHD 540×960 pixel resolution as well a 12 mega pixel camera, yes 12. The Junior SH-05 runs with a more than capable 1.5 GHz dual core processor, 8 GB of internal storage, a mobile wallet and even GPS. The Junior SH-05 will be offered in fitting child like colors, blue, pink and white. This new handset will become available in Japan on February 1st.
