Nokia announces the budget friendly Lumia 530! Nokia and the now infamous Lumia series of devices have just been given a new player! Currently Nokia and Microsoft are in the midst of laying-off a bunch of employees and officially putting an axe in the company’s Android powered handset. The Android project that produced Nokia’s X series of devices has been scrapped, but the budget friendly array of Lumia’s will of course continue on. The next handset up batting for Windows Phone is the Lumia 530! Let’s take a look shall we?

In the past there has been a large variety of Lumia devices. From the high end super powered Lumia 929 to the oversized budget minded Lumia 1320 and many Lumia variants in between. Today the company introduces the Lumia 530. The Lumia 530 at a glance is mostly a new and improved version of the Lumia 520 and 525 that came before it. It sports an improved processor, a worse camcorder, less internal storage but is more or less the same device. The Lumia 530 starts with a 4 inch touch screen that offers up a 480×854 resolution at 245 pixels per inch. The screen is built into a 11.7 mm housing and offers complete touch control over Windows Phone 8.1. Around back you’ll find a 5 mega pixel camera with video recording capabilities but no front facing shooter so selfies will have to be produced the old fashioned way! Internally the handset packs in a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 200 system chip that uses a quad core 1.2 GHz processor, Adreno 302 GPU, 512 MB of RAM, 4 GB of internal storage and expandable micro SD memory options up to 128 GB. The battery in the 530 measures in with a 1430 mAh rating while the rest of the device stays connective via Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS and micro USB. Lastly the 530 will be offered up with Microsoft’s Cortana as well as a host of other new software and will come in both single and dual SIM variants. The Lumia 530 will hit “select markets” starting next month.
