The Nokia Lumia 520 Gets Its FCC Approval
The Nokia Lumia 520 joins the 720 in stateside approval! Just two days ago the FCC was graced with the likes of the Nokia Lumia 720. While the Lumia 521 is set to make itself a home at tmobile in the coming months it looks as if the Lumia 520 is also ready to make a trip stateside! The Lumia 720 and 520 handsets were recently announced together and are seemingly traveling together! While the Lumia 520 will not knock your socks off with high end specs and amazing details, it is a solid device that will surely find a home here under the wings of some lucky carrier.
The Nokia Lumia 720 surprised everybody two days ago when it made an appearance at the FCC. Fast forward to today and its little brother the Lumia 520 makes its way in and out of the same halls for consumer approval. The Lumia 520 has made its way past the approval process under the model number RM-915 and previously as the RM-914 which is slated for launch in Europe and Asia. This latest version of the handset however, the RM-915 will launch in Australia as well as North and South America. The Lumia 520 uses compatible At&t frequency bands, however no news indicates the 520’s destiny to serve Ma’Bell. So what can you expect from the Lumia 520? The device starts with a 4 inch IPS LCD touch screen with a 480×800 pixel resolution at 235 pixels per inch. It runs the latest in Windows Phone 8 and packs in a 1430 mAh battery. Internally she’ll run with a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus MSM8227 system chip that totes a dual core 1 GHz processor. The 520 will use 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and expandable microSD memory options up to 64 GB, additionally graphics will be rendered by an Adreno 305 GPU. Around back we can expect a 5 mega pixel camera that is capable of recording video in 720p HD. While there is no front facing shooter, you can also expect GPS, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and a micro USB connection. No word on a release date, or carrier options but in due time, your choices will grow a bit.
