Nokia Announces the Asha 210 QWERTY

Nokia-Asha-210The Nokia Asha 210 brings the QWERTY back to life! It’s been awhile since we have seen the likes of Nokia’s Asha series handsets rocking a keyboard! The latest iteration of the feature phone came in the form of the touch screen Asha 310. Way back in 2011, right around the same time Nokia was introducing their Lumia 800 and 710 devices they also took to emerging markets and announced three different Asha Series 40 handsets, two of which sport full QWERTY keyboards. The QWERTY Asha is back and looking better than ever. World, meet the Nokia Asha 210!

The Nokia Asha series devices are mid to low range feature phones that offer up awesome connectivity for end users in emerging markets. The latest Asha however is a looker, and has a few social tricks up its sleeve. Spec’s wise, the Asha 210 is not something you’d hang your hat on, however what it lacks in high end specs is made up for is pure streamlined connectivity. The Asha 210 starts with a standard bar shape design that is built around an 11.8 mm thin body that houses a 2.4 inch 320×240 LCD with 169 pixels per inch. Internally the Asha 210 packs in a 1200 mAh battery, 32 MB of RAM and expandable microSD memory options up to 32 GB. The processing power has not been ousted at this point however Engadget reports it clocks in just under 1 GHz. Around back of the Asha 210 you’ll find an embedded 2 mega pixel camera with 176×144 video recording at 10 frames per second.  Other connectivity will allow for FM radio, Bluetooth 2.1, Wi-Fi, micro USB and SyncML. The Asha 210 also adds in a dedicated WhatsApp button which will end up being a Facebook button in certain markets as well as a dedicated camera button on the front side of the phone for easy one touch access to your 2 mega pixel shooter. The best part about the Asha 210 is it will only cost potential customers a mere $72 bucks! Of course this is before taxes and subsidies. The device will also ship in dual sim variations and will begin leaving its nest sometime this quarter. Lastly, as you can see the Asha 210 will be offered up in yellow, blue, pink, white and black!
