Nokia Announces the Lumia 930 and The Lumia 630 and 635
Nokia announces the Lumia 630, Lumia 635 and Lumia 930! The Nokia made Lumia’s at this point are the face of Windows Phone and today three new Lumia’s have made their way to official. While the Lumia 630 and Lumia 930 devices have been leaking since March rumors surrounding the launch stated the handsets would not actually become official on April 2nd during Microsoft’s Build conference. Unfortunately, that rumor was incorrect! Fortunately however, we are introduced to the ‘global’ version of the Lumia Icon and two new lower end Lumia’s! Microsoft’s Build Conference kicked off yesterday and it didn’t take too long for Nokia to steal the show with their new Lumia handsets! According to recent rumors these devices were not expected to be announced during this event, but they did! The announcements came in the shadows of Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 update and the announcement of the companies answer to Siri, S Voice and Google Now, Cortana. The Lumia 930 was initially rumored to be an international variant of the Verizon bound Lumia Icon, and proves to be…for the most part. While the 930 is a bit more colorful the device starts with a 5 inch full HD Clearblack OLED touch screen and will allow its users control over Windows Phone 8.1. Internally the Lumia 930 comes with a highly capable 2.2 Ghz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 2 GB of RAM, 32 GB of internal storage, and connectivity such as 4G LTE, Bluetooth, GPS, and an all day 2420 mAh battery. The device also comes with a 20 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash as well as a 1.3 mega pixel front facing sensor. The Lumia 930 will become available starting in June and will begin its roll out starting in Eurpoe, Asia, India, the Middle East and Latin America. Priced at around $599 don’t expect the Lumia 930 to find its way stateside as the Lumia Icon exclusively fills that void with Verizon. The Lumia 630 and 635 as were sure you could imagine are mostly the same phone. The main difference between the two is the 635 comes with 4G LTE connectivity while the 630 lacks the LTE speeds but is offered up in dual SIM variations at 3G speeds. Both devices are built around a 4.5 inch 854×480 touch screen that houses a highly capable Snapdragon 400 processor, 512 MB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage, expandable micro SD memory options, and an 1830 mAh battery. Additionally the handsets pack in a 5 mega pixel rear facing camera. These two new smart phones will become available starting in May and will be found in Asia, Russia, China, India and Europe. The 635 will also be made available here stateside and should run you about $189 bucks! At&t, T-Mobile and MetroPCS have all confirmed their plans to carry the Lumia 635.
