The New Motorola RAZR i with Intel Inside
There is an old saying that goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. That saying is surely true in most cases, but does not address improvement. It may not be broken, but it can surely perform better! Motorola has been making the RAZR line up of phones for quite some time and they just keep getting better. Recently the company teamed up with the leaders of computation Intel to put something very impressive in the palms of smart phone users everywhere. That dream of awesomeness has resulted in this amazingly high powered Motorola RAZR i.
The Motorola RAZR i is the latest and quite possibly the greatest in the RAZR line up. The newly announced Motorola RAZR i is basically a Droid RAZR M but with Intel Inside! In a first for Motorola they have teamed up with the genius that is Intel to push the capabilities of mobile handsets a bit further into the future. Firstly the body of the device is identical in dimensions to the M version. It also keeps its ultra durable Kevlar backing and water resistance. The new RAZR i starts with the likes of Android version 4.0 with a Jelly Bean update not to off in the future. Up front the device uses a 4.3 inch Super AMOLED Advanced touch screen that is just shy of being bezel-less, but branded as “edge to edge”. The vibrant touch screen offers up a 540×960 pixel resolution at 256 pixels per inch. Internally the new RAZR i is where the separation from the norm comes into play. It packs in an amazingly powerful Intel Atom Z2460 single core chip set that clocks in at 2 GHz. Additionally the processor will team up on tasking with a PowerVR SGX540 graphics processor, 1 GB of RAM and 5 GB of internal storage. Expandable microSDHC memory is also available up to 32 GB. Around back amongst the light weight Kevlar backing you’ll find an 8 mega pixel camera waiting to snap some pictures with features like burst mode, digital zoom, geo tagging, HDR and a BSI sensor. Of course this camera combined with its awesome processing power can also record video in full 1080p HD at 30 frames per second. A VGA quality or .3 mega pixel front facing camera is also available for…whatever it is people use front facing cameras for. The RAZR i is not LTE compatible, however it can get you fast 4G speeds with its HSPA radio. You can also expect connectivity like, A-GPS, Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n, Mobile hotspot, Bluetooth, micro USB, 3.5 mm headset jack, DLNA, and NFC. Wrapping it up a sealed 2000 mAh battery powers the RAZR i. That’s about it. The Droid RAZR M just got an upgrade, but you may have noticed its not labeled as a Droid. This unfortunately is due to its lack of plans to make it stateside. The device is slated for a release in UK, France, Germany and Brazil and scheduled to begin arriving to retailers in these countries starting in early October. If you reside in one of these lucky locations you can expect to shell out about £342 for your own RAZR i. Check out this video.
