The new myTouch and myTouch Q 4G phones enter the fray
When a carrier and a manufacturer get together to launch new phones it’s a beautiful thing. Why? Well, options and momentum. The options make finding that perfect phone simple and easy, while the momentum continues to push more advanced technologies, into the hands of users that aren’t really concerned with processing and power, but rather are looking for overall quality. LG and T-Mobile have launched to new myTouch devices on to the world and have pushed the entry level envelope a bit further. Let’s take a gander at the new myTouch and myTouch Q that have recently been announced by the likes of T-Mobile via LG.
Thursday T-Mobile took the press and released the LG made myTouch and myTouch Q devices. Spec wise the two devices sit in the mid range sector of smart phones, however their unannounced prices will ultimately determine where they stand amongst users.
The new myTouch is a slate styled phone that sports a 3.8 inch capacitive touch screen that houses a 1 GHz single core CPU and runs the power of Android 2.3. It comes equipped with a rear facing 5 mega pixel camera that can record video in 720p, as well as an additional front facing shooter that can also record video. It comes with an on screen QWERTY keyboard and is pre loaded with the never lift a finger typing Swype. The new myTouch is HSPA+ 4G compatible and will provide its users with super fast data speeds. You can also expect all the standards including, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, microUSB, expandable microSD and microSDHC memory, and even DLNA connectivity. This new myTouch by LG is an excellent new addition to the myTouch line up.
The myTouch Q is the other addition to the lineup and is basically the same phone, the only noticeable differences are its ‘mytouch’ softkey at its bottom right hand side, a slightly smaller screen and a horizontally sliding keyboard. The myTouch Q is a sliding phone that opens to a full QWERTY keyboard and most likely brings the Q into the name. Its screen is slightly smaller than its running mate, and measures in at 3.5 inches. It to sports a single core 1 GHz CPU and runs the latest Android 2.3 operating system. It sports the same 5 mega pixel camera with 720p video capabilities, but drops the front facing shooter. The myTouch Q also sports HSPA+ 4G connectivity and also comes with a slew of smart phone standards you would expect. It has GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, microUSB, expandable microSD or microSDHC memory, but drops DLNA connectivity when compared to the myTouch. Another excellent addition to the already infamous myTouch line up.
The two new smart phones will be made available in a few color options. The myTouch will come in either white or black, while the myTouch Q will sport violet or gray color ways. As you would expect they are exclusive to t-mo and will be made available “in time for the holiday season”.
