MyTouch Slide 3G Coming June 2nd


  T-Mobile has confirmed that the MyTouch 3G Slide will be available starting the second day of June this year. It is the newest Android smartphone to feature a full QWERTY keypad. This particular model by HTC will be made available at a price of $179.99, after sending in a $50 mail in rebate as well as signing a two year exclusive contract with the carrier. Essentially, consumers will need to spend $230 for the device without using the rebate. The device will be launched 4 days prior to the much awaited release of the HTC EVO 4G under their rival company Sprint. Initially, the device will be made available to a selected number of T-Mobile dealers and retail stores located nationwide. Starting June 16, the device will be released to a much greater area, although there is currently no list of these stores. 

 The T-Mobile MyTouch 3G Slide will be featuring a 3.4 inch HVGA touch sensitive screen. In addition to the full QWERTY keypad previously mentioned is a Swype keyboard for added convenience. There is also a 8 GB microSD memory card included with the package. In addition, there is a 5 MP camera with a built in flash and autofocus capability. Added video features include sharing by email, by MMS, YouTube and even Picasa. Network options include GPS, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The MyTouch 3G slide will be running on the currently available Android 2.1 OS. Other features include a Faves Gallery, in which a total of 20 selected people with options of ways to communicate with them – by means of calling, texting, sending an email or an instant message. Because the MyTouch 3G Slide is an Android smartphone, add-ons have been installed to make updating and accessing social networking sites much easier for the user. As a Google Android device, expect the usual goodies such as Google Maps and Navigation as well as Gmail
