Motorola Spice Key and or Fire makes its way into the world
Since the launch of the iPhone it seems the world has been inundated with touch screens. Some super large, some super small. What has remained a staple however is the simple candy bar design with a fully tactical QWERTY keypad. RIM helped make them the staple they are, however more and more companies are producing these lovable QWERTY’s based merely out need. Most QWERTY lovers are not going to give up their keyboards for apps, so what do? Well give them both. In the past few months more companies have been pumping out these QWERTY devices and it seems that Motorola is finally releasing their Fire and Spice Key.
The Motorola Spice Key originally made its appearance back in 2010 among five other devices that have already been released. The Citrus, Bravo, Flipside, Flipout and Defy have all made their way to the market and can be found very regularly amongst teens and adults alike. But what was it about the Spice Key that made it not launch worthy at the time of its original appearance? Who knows, but it is here today and comes equipped with its very own press release. The Motorola XT316 will be known as the known in the Latin America as the Motorola Spice Key and will take on the Fire moniker in European countries. Currently the XT316 is available in China and will be made available in Taiwan, Hong Kong and Latin America in the coming weeks. The Asian and European launch will commence later this summer season. But what is in a name? Well not much. The Motorola Spicy Key Fire is essentially an entry level Android device that is said to give “busy users the smartphone experience they crave at a price they can afford”. The Motorola XT316 combines the best of both worlds with its full QWERTY keypad and 2.8 inch QVGA touch screen. The inner workings of the Motorola Fire and Spice Key are run by none other than Android version 2.2. An upgrade to 2.3 Gingerbread will be made available sometime during the fall. Of course with the power of Android comes access to the thousands of applications it has to offer. The XT316 will come fully equipped with a 3 mega pixel camera that can also record video. The XT316 will come fully equipped with a 600MHz Qualcomm MSM7227-1 processor, 512 ROM, 256 RAM, expandable memory with microSD up to 32GB, a best in class 1420 mAh battery, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and Moto Switch running over the top of Android.
