The Motorola Droid’s Are Back!
Motorola announces the Verizon bound Droid Ultra, Mini and Maxx! Motorola has been very quiet lately as the company has undergone some restructuring under helm of their new ownership. Motorola who at one point was producing multiple handsets every year has not produced a notable smart phone in quite some time. Rumors surrounding the Google centric Moto X pegged the handset as the companies’ next great smart phone, but it looks as if the original Motorola had plans in place with Verizon and their Droid legacy. The last awesome Droid’s were the Droid RAZR Maxx HD and Droid RAZR HD yesterday however Motorola and Verizon announced three new Droid’s the Droid Ultra, Droid Mini and Droid Maxx. Let’s take a gander shall we?
Details surrounding the new set of Motorola Droids have been circulating the rumor mill for a while now and right on cue Verizon and Motorola have announced three new Droid’s to rule them all. The new Droid’s were announced Tuesday and will fall in line with previous Droid pricing. He Droid Ultra will run you about $199, while the Maxx should cost 299 and the Droid Mini will come in at a mere $99 bucks, all of which are priced under a new contract. Pre-Orders on the devices have opened as of the 23rd! So what can you expect? All three devices run with Android version 4.2.2 and comes built in a Kevlar housing. The Mini uses a 4.7 inch LCD touch screen while the Maxx and Ultra sport 5 inch AMOLED touch screens. The pixel resolution is 720 x1280 across all of the handsets but the mini has a bit more density at 342 ppi compared to the Maxx and Ultra’s 294. Internally the devices are nearly identical. They all run with a Motorola X8 system chip that uses a dual core 1.7 GHz processor with a 400 MHz quad core GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 16 to 32 GB of built in storage. All three handsets also come with a 10 mega pixel rear facing camera with LED flash and full HD video recording as well as a 1080p capable 2 mega pixel front facing shooter as well. Additional connectivity can be found via GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB and NFC.
