New Motorola Android Defy’s touch screen standards
Motorola is known for making mass’s of phones. These phones run the gambit of very high end smart phones to smaller well…dumb phones. The company is also known for shifting “standards” in certain cases. But when thinking of an Android operating smart phone you wouldn’t normally think of say a construction site or a daily phone for a police officer on duty. Recently we have seen the likes of the Motorola i1 hit the damage zone and keep on trucking in most any situation. Well folks if you’re in a high hazard zone day to day and would like to take you touch screen smart phone with you, this new Motorola Defy may be for you.
The Motorola Defy shows off some pretty cool features. The Defy is dust and scratch resistant via the power of Gorilla glass. The Defy is also water-resistant and can be submerged in up to one meter, or about three feet for those metrically challenged for up to a half hour. This amazing durability comes to the Defy via its IP67 durability specs. Other specs of the device can are impressive to say the least for such a durable phone. The Defy will give users a screen resolution of 854 x 480, a slightly smaller than the trend OMAP 3610 processor running at 800MHz. The new Defy will be running Android version 2.1 and according to video Motorola is “investigating” the 2.2 opportunity. A slight disappointment, however, the phone serves its purpose I suppose. Other known features will have the Defy come with Swype pre installed as a keyboard option. The Defy is said to be launching in Europe by Q4 2010.
So there you have it. The new Motorola Defy will indeed be a good choice for those in the hazardous work environments –maybe I need one – and for the parents who are looking to get a phone for their kids who always break the expensive things – another reason I might need one-.
