The lights of Vegas dim just a little with the launch of a MetroPCS 4G LTE network
You may think of MetroPCS as the “other guy” when compared to the top 4 carriers here in the states. Recently however the company went on the record and stated that they would be launching a 4G LTE network to be available this year. Looks like MetroPCS has stuck to their word as the company is a launching the 4G network in Las Vegas. Whos the “other guy” now?
This morning brings good news to Metro PCS users who find themselves living or even visiting Las Vegas. Only thing, you need a compatible phone. But no worries, as the Samsung Craft is on the way. Via an early morning press release, MetroPCS became the first mobile carrier to launch a commercially available 4G LTE network. The service is currently available in Las Vegas and is said to spread to into other markets this year and continuing on into early 2011. If you are familiar with MetroPCS you are surely aware of their competitive prices, and there new LTE is no different, as the company is “offering talk, text and 4G Web access starting as low as $55 per month including taxes and regulatory fees”, good deal huh?. Of course with this new network comes the need for new compatible devices and it looks like Samsung has stepped to the plate with the Craft. The Craft from Samsung may look like a device you have seen a million times in the past, however, don’t let its looks fool you. The Craft sports a 3.3 AMOLED screen, a 3.2 MP camera, 1x/EV-DO CDMA and LTE radios, micro-SD slot that is expandable up to 32GB and all the other standards, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth.
