LG Optimus Sol – Victor or E730 gets ousted German style

With the onslaught of Samsung devices seemingly taking over the Android market it is easy to forget about its competitors. While we wait on the Droid Bionic from Motorola to launch it makes me think, where is LG. While the company has released a few devices this year only a handful of them are really worth a mention. The Revolution, G2X, G-Slate tablet and the onslaught of Optimus devices. All of which are very solid and forward thinking devices. However a new addition to the Optimus line has leaked its way to the internet via a German tech blog BestBoyz. Let’s take a gander shall we.

While I like to think of the Optimus line of smart phones walking that thin line between feature phone and super smart phone, I’m pretty sure it falls to the latter side more times than not. But of course that’s just my opinion and it is quite irrelevant. The new LG Optimus device was spotted a few weeks back making its way through the FCC as the LG E730, today it officially becomes the LG Optimus Sol and carries a code name “Victor”. The slate styled device uses Android version 2.3.3 or also known as Gingerbread and is skinned up with LG’s Optimus user interface. Which unsurprisingly looks very familiar to Samsungs touch wiz. On the front side of the new Sol you’ll get a 3.8 inch AMOLED touch screen with a WVGA pixel resolution. As far as specs are concerned that’s about as far as this boat can take us. Other noteworthy mentions are its 5 mega pixel camera that shows no signs of a flash. Three soft keys take up the bottom of the device and give you access to move backwards, shoot home or access your menu. As you can tell this new LG Optimus Sol is not currently for sale, however the leaky source is claiming this new bad boy will be made available in silver and black and run you about € 299 or in US dollars around 422 bucks. Which in my irrelevant opinion is pretty pricey for a phone that doesn’t even come with a flash, but there are bigger problems in the world I guess. Check out this new LG Optimus Sol getting fondeled and shown off in video form below.
