The LG Optimus G Pro Ready For its Stateside Debut

LG’s Optimus G poses for the camera with At&t branding. Way back in September of last year the LG Optimus G train got started on its maiden voyage. Today marks a new destination for the series G handsets. September of last year LG introduced the LG Optimus G super phone to the Korean markets, it’s amazing build and awesome specs lead it to become available here stateside, as well as the building blocks of the now infamous Nexus 4. Fast forward a few months and LG has taken the Optimus G to Pro levels! Today brings us new visuals as to what an At&t bound Optimus G Pro would like.

The Optimus G Pro has been lurking around Japan and Korea for a few months now as the device went live back in February. News of the Optimus G Pro making its way stateside have been popping up lately and now a look at Ma’Bell’s variation have surfaced to the top of the interwebs. Recently details of the At&t variation have given it a May 10th release date. Evleaks has posted images of the new handsets and give it an E980 model number.  The pictures show off a slightly different backing to the device when compared to global variations. While the details on the new At&t variation are still a bit nil, it is expected to be pretty close to the original. The Optimus G Pro will of course come with 4G LTE connectivity and should be running the latest in Android, Jelly Bean. The Optimus G Pro is expected to come with a full HD touch screen that measures in at 5.5 inches. Internally it should run with a quad core Qualcomm made Snapdragon 600 chipset, 32 GB of internal storage, expandable micro SD memory options and 2GB of RAM. Around back we can expect a 13 mega pixel camera, while a 2.1 mega pixel shooter will reside up front. Additional connectivity will include GPS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, HDMI, and NFC. While expected to arrive May 10th, price points on the handset are still undetermined, however $200 bucks with a new two year contract seems to be on par.
