The LG Optimus G Pro Becomes Official for NTT DoCoMo

It was only last week where leaky details of a new variation of the Optimus G surfaced to the top of the rumor mill and today, the new LG Optimus G Pro becomes official. While LG continues to pump out the Optimus G and its ever famous cousin the Nexus 4 it seems like these two class leading handsets are simply not enough. Enter the Optimus G Pro. Nothing says “we improved it” than adding a Pro to the name. The LG Optimus G Pro may have a long name, but it sure does improve upon the Optimus G and helps push the envelope in this crazy mixed up mobile world.

Just last week the LG Optimus G Pro showed up in two different leaks. One in the form of a leaked slide sent to Engadget, which showed off a few details and renderings of the device. The second leak appeared at the legendary Blog of Mobile, which pin pointed a few un-told specs. Today however, all the rumors and leaks are worthless as the LG Optimus G Pro is official. Today Japanese carrier NTT DoCoMo announced they will carry the new smart phone for their 2013 spring offerings. The best part is the Optimus G Pro shows to be exactly what the rumors said about it, awesome, in Pro form. The LG Optimus G Pro starts with the new standard, a 5 inch touch screen that offers up a perfect 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Internally the Optimus G Pro should prove to be a bit lighter on its feet as it will come with a 1.7 GHz Snapdragon S4 Pro chipset, 2 GB of RAM and 32 GB of built in storage. Additonally you can expect the Optimus G Pro to come offering a microSDXC card slot, 4G LTE connectivity, and the likes of Android version 4.1 aka Jelly Bean. Around back of the Optimus G Pro sits a 13 mega pixel camera while its front facing shooter clocks in at 2.4 mega pixels. Intial rumors of the handset slated it for an MWC announcement, however NTT DoCoMo will have it available starting in April. Unfortunately, we’ll have to wait and see if it breaks barriers and makes it out of Japan.
