The LG CX2 To Become the Optimus 3D 2
Do you remember that 3D phase mobile went through recently? Yes, that one particular niche that lasted through two phone models. Well if it’s up to LG, the bucket has not yet been kicked…at least hard enough. Yesterday we brought you some leaky news from LG that pictured their new X3 quad core device. The X3 is rumored to become official at this year Mobile World Conference. But would a company of LG’s status show up to one of the most important meetings of the year with one flagship under their belt? I think not! The CX2 aka the Optimus 3D 2 is also making the rumor mill as the companies’ second device for the showing. So is 3D back…let’s hope not!
While the gimmick may be interesting and even fun in some circumstances, the 3D buzz dies off and then is resurrected, then ultimately dies off for awhile. Then the likes of the Optimus 3D 2 appear and we are back in the muck. While 3D may appear to be a gimmick and in my humble opinion not belong
in mobile anywhere, it the Optimus 3D 2 has a bit more to offer than just multimedia in three dimensional space. The Optimus 3D 2 is actually quite impressive, at least according to the rumor’s that is. While most of the Optimus 3D 2 is the same as the original, the second iteration improves a bit in the processing and display department. Internally the Optimus 3D 2 takes a bump in the processing department from its original dual core 1GHz cpu to a now slight larger 1.2 GHz dual core CPU. The processor is said to be Texas Instruments made and will surely keep everything running smooth. The screen this new addition to LG’s arsenal is said to be the same size as the predecessor but packs in a NOVA auto-stereoscopic display for brighter bright and whiter whites. PocketNow who unlocked the mystery behind this new phone note that the brightness of the display will potentially vary significantly between the phones 3D and 2D modes. Around back the Optimus 3D 2 packs in two 5 mega pixel cameras with an LED flash. The Optimus 3D is also said to carry the legacy with its 8GB of internal memory. Other details give this new phone NFC capabilities, Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b / g / n and DLNA capabilities. Other impressive improvements slim down the new model from 12 millimeters to just less than 10 millimeters. Unfortunately more details on this new device from LG will have to wait until MWC in a few weeks.
