The LG Intuition Becomes a Phablet Reality

Ahh, the phablet. The word that Samsung created! A while back Samsung announced a smart phone that took the “standard size” and tossed it out the window. The Galaxy Note was born, you may have heard of it. Wildly and unsuspectedly popular the oversized smart phone took on a life of its own. While it has been tried before, the idea never caught until the Note. But now, not to be left out by one of their major competitors, LG is bringing its oversized smart phone tablet the Optimus VU stateside as the LG Intuition 4G LTE.

Back in February of this year LG took to the Korean market with a phablet of their own, known as the Optimus VU. Since its inception most anyone interested wanted to know when the one and only Note competitor would make its way stateside. With a long list of leaks that span over a few months, including supposed press shots, spec details and rumored launch dates, the LG Optimus VU is ready for its American debut. With a slight name change the LG Intuition has become official! After a long weekend the LG Intuition was made official last Tuesday. The Intuition in case you haven’t been following along in its saga is a more than capable 5 inch smart phone that offers up a 768×1024 pixel resolution at an excellent 256 pixels per inch. It uses an IPS LCD touch screen and can easily handle all that you throw at it. Internally it runs with a 1.5 GHz dual core chipset that is backed by 1 GB of Ram and 32 GB of internal storage. Around back expect an 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash, video recording capabilities as well as features like auto focus and geo tagging. Up front a 1.3 mega pixel camera is ready at the helm. Additional connectivity comes from the likes of Bluetooth version 3.0, Wi-Fi, micro USB, DLNA, and HDMI connections. The oversized device becomes an online reality September 6th, in stores September 10th, and will cost you about $200 bucks on a new contract.
