The LG G2X will be Avalible Online April 15th and in the real world the April 20th
So everything does happen faster on the internet! LG is dropping a new phone soon and it’s called the G2X. The G2X is a monster phone by all means of the imagination, and will be landing at big magenta in about a week or so. The LG G2X was officially announced to be coming to Tmo’s networks mid March and shown off at CTIA 2011. The news sparked huge interest as the G2X is a very powerful smart phone. Originally leaked earlier in March the G2X is also known as the LG Optimus 2X in other parts of the world. Now it seems that its dual core flavoring will land stateside very soon.
Original leaks put the launch of the G2X around April 15th. The world has learned today via a tweet from T-Mobile that the G2X will be available online on April 15th and hit retail stores on April 20th. The cost of the new LG G2X will run you about $200 hundred bucks. This is of course with a mail in rebate and a new two year service contract. Which is priced right all specs considered. But what will you get with your two hundred bucks? Let’s take a look.
The LG G2X is a standard candy bar styled touch screen device that packs a punch like snickers do peanuts. The G2X starts with an amazing 4 inch capacitive touch screen that has a pixel resolution of 480×800. Looking internally the G2X uses a 1GHz dual core NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor which will knock your socks off in the performance department and is said to extend battery life at the same time. The G2X will has 8GB of internal memory as well as a microSD card slot that can handle up to 32GB of external memory. Android version 2.2 or Froyo as it’s called will be the operating system of choice for the new LG G2X, oh and its vanilla Android as well which is always a plus. The LG G2X sports an 8 mega pixel camera and get this, its camera can record your special moments in full 1080p HD thanks to its Tegra 2 processor. You can expect all the essential connectivity details as well, including Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB and HDMI. The G2X will also come equipped with GPS for those times you get lost or need directions. The list goes on and on with this new G2X, cannot wait to see its benchmarked against the competition. The G2X is HSPA+ compatible and ready to pull 4G speeds out of the box. Also Tmonews pointed out back in March is that the G2X could very well be “Future proofed” as its frequency bands seem to be ready for an At&t take over.
