The LG G2 Shows off a Bit More and is Rumored to be the Base for the Nexus 5
More details of LG’s forth coming G2 emerge into the spotlight. Last week details of an awesome smart phone from Korea leaked into the headlines. LG’s G2 appeared in the headers once again and a bit of insight gave us all a few more details surrounding what is to be expected from the device. The LG G2 was initially leaked back in April and was expected to come with a rather unique design. Building the anticipation LG went ahead and confirmed the G2 processing would be handled by the super excellent Snapdragon 800 chipset. Last week the G2’s distinct build was exposed and now we are getting a closer look at what the G2 has to offer.
Early this week LG all but confirmed its plans for the G2 by sending out event invitations that read “Great 2 Have You!” The event is scheduled for August 7th and will be held in New York City. Alongside the seemingly premature event invitations LG also decided to share the promotional video shown below. Shortly after the invitations were sent off and this cheesy video uploaded, an actual, real life in the flesh LG G2 has been spotted, pictured and videoed in action. Details surrounding what the G2 will offer spec’s wise have also been brought to the table. According to the picture leaker the device is running with a 2.3 GHz Snapdragon 800 processor and will come with 2 GB of RAM. Other details out of Korea have pinned specs for an unnamed LG made flagship that is expected to release August 20th. This spec sheet gives the mystery phone the same Snapdragon processor, the same 2 GB of RAM as well as a 5.3 inch screen, a 2700 mAh battery, LTE Advanced and a 13 mega pixel camera. While this cannot be confirmed it is highly likely that these specs are for the LG G2 variation that will launch in Korea. Additionally, a new report surrounding an LG manufactured Google Nexus 5 state the next generation Nexus smart phone will be built off of the G2 base just as the Nexus 4 was build around the Optimus G. The Nexus 5 is expected in October while the Optimus G2 will be officially announced August 7th. Anyone interested in the G2 or Nexus 5?
