LG Officially Announces the G Flex
LG makes their G Flex smart phone a reality! The idea of curved LED displays has been lingering around the tech world for quite some time now. Recently both leaders in the field, Samsung and LG have finally seen the flexible light and decided to use the new technologies in some new fancy smart phones. Samsung has recently launched the rather limited Galaxy Round which bends inwards from both sides. Not to be beaten to the punch, LG’s G Flex handset has been rumored and leaked until now. LG has taken the covers off the G Flex and has made the device a reality. Anyone interested?
Recently leaks and detailed pictures of the G Flex have blown the cover off of LG’s top secret handset and in what can only be described as damage control; LG has gone official with the device. Today LG has officially unveiled their new G Flex smart phone! As the companies first curved display smart phone it will be made available in South Korea starting in November. The device sports an awesome spec sheet, a curved screen a ‘self healing’ technologies that most people can only dream of. While the specifics on this magic are un-determined, it is speculated that the G Flex uses a form of Nano technologies on its rear to allow scratches to ‘heal’ themselves. The G Flex starts with a 6 inch OLED touch screen panel that offers up a 1280×720 pixel resolution. It runs with the likes of Android version 4.2.2 and includes connectivity such as LTE Advanced, NFC, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, and USB 3.0. Internally the G Flex runs with a Qualcomm made Snapdragon 800 system chip that uses a quad core 2.2 GHz Krait processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 2 GB of RAM and up to 32 GB of built in storage. Around back of its bent build we find a 13 mega pixel camera positioned directly above a volume rocker and power button similarly to the companies recently launched G2. An additional front facing shooter is also available and uses a 1.2 mega pixel sensor to capture time at a standstill. The new G Flex also packs in a huge 3500 mAh battery and is built into a super thin 7.9 mm thin body. No word on pricing, but the G Flex is expected to stay a Korean exclusive for the time being.
