Apple announces the new iPad Mini with retina display. It’s that magical time again folks. The time of the year when Apple beings to bring forth their latest in iOS gadgets. There are only a few weeks until the holiday season is officially open and Apple has just launched new iPads to accompany their new iPhones this year. Back in September the company launched the iPhone 5C and the iPhone 5S, fast forward to yesterday and the iPad Mini Retina and iPad Air were born! Just in time for season Apple has launched not one, but two new tablets.
The iPad Mini was announced in October of last year and surprised the world as its design deviated from the iPad standard 10 inch form factor. Nonetheless, the iPad Mini was born. Shortly after its inception the question to when an iPad Mini with seemingly standard Apple retina display would launch. Well, the wait is over. The iPad Mini 2 otherwise known as the iPad mini with Retina display was launched yesterday alongside the iPad Air and a host of other Apple products. So what is new? The iPad Mini Retina keeps the same overall size however thickens up a bit from 7.2mm to 7.5mm. The tablet gives users access to iOS 7 via its 7.9 inch screen that offers up a 2048×1536 pixel resolution at 324 pixels per inch. Internally the new Mini is set to come running with Apple’s latest and greatest A7 system chip that offers up a 1.3 GHz dual core processor. Additionally the new mini comes rocking a PowerVR G6430 GPU and starts at 16GB in the storage department. Around back the mini houses the same 5 mega pixel camera that was built into previous generations while the same 1.2 mega pixel sensor can also be found housed up front. The iPad Mini Retina basically brings a high definition screen to the mini build.
