The Intel Powered ZTE Geek Shows off for the Press
The ZTE gives its Geek Intel Atom power with a hint of Androids Jelly Bean! ZTE has been pumping out mid range and flagship phones for a while now. Most recently the ZTE Quantum was said to be heading to Sprint while the ZTE Force has made its way to Boost Mobile as well as Sprint. The manufacturer is continually pumping out smart phones however only a handful of their devices ever make it stateside. The latest on the podium is the Intel powered ZTE Geek. Horrible name, but decent specs, let’s see what the ZTE Geek has to offer.
The new smart phone was unveiled by the manufacturer at IDF in Beijing China. IDF is the Intel Developer Forum and as you can imagine is filled with awesome Intel based stuffs and the ZTE Geek is one. The Geek starts with a 5 inch HD touch screen that clocks a 1280×720 pixel resolution and is protected upon high by the likes of Corning’s Gorilla Glass. Internally the Geek runs with an Intel Z2580 Clover Trail processor which is only found in one other device and runs a 2 GHz dual core processor. Additional details give the Geek 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and a 2300 mAh battery. You can also expect the Geek to run with an 8 mega pixel rear facing camera while a 1 mega pixel shooter resides up front. The Geek also comes with Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, wireless charging, expandable micro SD support, and Wi-Fi connectivity. Unfortunately the details on the Geek stop there. The company has not announced the when, where and how much portions of this geeky equation however it is likely the Geek will never make it stateside.
