Huawei’s 6.1 Inch Ascend Mate Goes up For Pre-Order
Huawei’s supersized Ascend Mate has been made available for pre-order. As the oversized smartphone world becomes more and more dominant companies are pulling out all the stops to simply compete. Ironically this time, they’re not playing catch up with an Apple product. The Huawei Ascend Mate is set to be a new competitor in the phablet world and will do all it can to catch the leader Note II. The amazingly large phone was first put out to pasture at this year’s CES. Shortly before it became official at the CES the Mate showed face at a retail store in the hands of the companies’ senior vice president. Today the world is one step closer to a new monster phone.
The Ascend Mate was introduced earlier this year at CES and came with a launch date of February. Friday was the first day of the month and the 6.1 inch slate hit pre-order shelves at liaow.com! The website is Chinese based retailer and is asking about $575 bucks for the handset. Also, if you are indeed interested the company does ship internationally! But what can you expect for $575? Well, the largest smart phone tablet to date. The Huawei Ascend Mate starts with a class leading 6.1 inch Super IPS+ LCD touch screen that offers up a 720×1280 pixel resolution at 241 pixels per inch. The Ascend Mate runs with the likes of Android version 4.1.2 aka Jelly Bean and offers up its own Huawei made Emotion UI. Delving a bit deeper shows us that the Ascend Mate carries with it an amazingly suitable battery that measures in at 4050 mAh. Internally she comes with a Hi-Silicon K3V2 + Intel XMM6260 system chip that offers up a Quad core 1.5 GHz processor, an unnamed GPU, 2 GB of RAM and 16GB of built in storage. Around back of the Mate you’ll find an 8 mega pixel camera with LED flash, a whole host of camera tricks including 1080p HD video recording. Additional connectivity can be had via, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0 + EDR, Wi-Fi 802.11 a, b, g, n, n 5GHz, micro USB 2.0, and DLNA.
