The Huawei Impulse 4G brings Super Speeds and Smartphone Features to all

The fourth G is currently humming along in most sectors across the country. From Sprint to Tmobile to Verizon and even other more regional carriers the standard of data speed has been bumped up a bit. But you have to wonder where At&t’s 4th G is. As the company slowly builds out its 4G networks we are seeing more compatible phones with the 4G branding. This new device is an entry level device that will help put a smart phone into the hands of the world, let’s take a look.

At&t and Huawei’s have pulled the sheets off of the entry level 4G device this morning and its impressive for what it’s worth. Recently a similar looking device got a bit leaky and was presumed to be a Samsung make while it still very well could be in the works, for now we have the Huawei Impulse 4G which has also been known in another time and space as the Ideos X5. The Impulse 4G is said to bridge the price gap on higher end devices to give a more affordable options to those who still want the flagship features. While it is clearly not a flagship phone to you and me, it will surely help blur the lines for deal savvy consumers. The Impulse’s 4th G comes by way of its HSPA+ connectivity and it is said to pull speeds up to 14.4 Mbps. Super fast, of course it’s not LTE fast however. On the front side of this candy bar designed phone you get a 3.8 inch WVGA screen that rocks a 480×800 pixel resolution. Under the pixel rocking hood is an 800 MHz Qualcomm MSM7230 processor that provides the magic you’ll need to run Android 2.2 or Froyo. You’ll also be able to snap some pictures with its 5 mega pixel camera or record some home movies in 720p HD. You can also expect the standard like Wi-Fi, GPS and Hotspot functionality. So what is the impressive part you say? Well, its price tag. The new Huawei Impulse 4G will be made available on September 18th for thirty bucks, yes that $30 dollars. Avi Greengart was quoted within the press release saying, “The Huawei Impulse 4G from AT&T is priced like a budget smartphone but brings a much larger display and higher resolution video recording than other Android phones at this price point.” Let the smart phone world dominance ensue.
