The Huawei Ascend G600 Set To Scale Select Markets Next Month
So many new phones and so little time! IFA is underway and electronics manufacturers from across the globe have descended on Berlin to show off the latest advancements in their wares. The latest in everything from PC’s to TV’s and of course our favorite, smart phones are on display for the world to see. Some years a clear show stopping device surfaces to the top of all the other announcements and wins the market share of our minds. This year, that unique device may have not appeared yet, but the new Huawei Ascend G600 is indeed a part of the short list of contenders.
The Ascend line is to Huawei as the Galaxy line is to Samung. The difference is there are considerably less Ascend’s than Galaxies. The latest in Ascend however has appeared in the flesh at this year’s IFA. The Huawei Ascend G600 was shown off and made official at the trade show alongside a lower end Ascend G330 and a MediaPad 7 tablet. The Ascend G600 is an amazing new smart phone. It starts with a perfectly sized Gorilla Glass protected 4.5 inch qHD IPS LCD styled touch screen that clocks in a 540×960 pixel resolution at 245 pixels per inch. Computing power for the Ascend G600 comes from a dual core Qualcomm made 1.2 GHz chipset, 768 MB of RAM and 4GB on board storage. An expandable microSDHC memory option is also available and can accommodate up to 32GB. Power for all this amazing processing is drawn from a more than capable 1930 mAh battery. Around back an 8 mega pixel camera with video recording capabilities resides. An unspecified front facing camera is, according to the press release “designed for high-resolution video telephony over Skype® and other VoIP providers”. Additional detail of the new Ascend G600 give it Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, micro USB, DLNA and NFC connectivity. Topping the Ascnend off like a cherry on a banana split is Android version 4.0.4 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. The lovable Android operating system is then layered with the likes of Huawei’s Emotion UI. The Ascend G600 while brand new to most prying eyes will actually be made available to unidentified “selected markets” starting in September 2012, which is actually only a few hours away!
