The Huawei Ascend D Quad Release Date comes into Focus
Huawei is another one of those phone manufacturers that you may know nothing about. They are a telecom manufacturer based out of China and they have been pumping out excellent electronics since 88’. But before we go any further and let you in on new info surrounding the company’s latest smart phone, you should know its pronounced wah-way! Last month the company made the journey to Barcelona to show off its new digs. Its flagship or front runner is the Ascend D. Made official at MWC new details of the Ascend D are putting the device into retail outlets, soon…but is it soon enough?
CNMO.Com is a Chinese based website shrouded in mobile. The website has published some new leaky details surrounding the legendary Ascend D Quad’s release time frame. According to the source the Ascend D Quad will go into mass production come June, from their time frame on availability puts the device on shelves in July. While that may seem right around the corner to you and me, keep in mind Huawei’s competition will be release quad core based devices in the very near future. With the pending implosion of quad core based devices, including the soon to launch HTC One X and the heavily rumored GSIII from Samsung it may be pretty hard for Huawei to gain traction in this fierce arena. So what does the Ascend D Quad have to offer? Well, a whole lot of excellence. The spec sheet on the Ascend D Quad reads, just like any power using smart phone shopper would want it to. It starts with Android version 4.0 also known as Ice Cream Sandwich. In the land of new phone release with Android 2.3, this is a very good start. Add in the fact that this will presumably be vanilla Android and (at least to me) were sold! The housing of the Ascend D Quad measures in at 5.08 x 2.52 x 0.35 inches and packs in excellence. Its 720×1280 Super IPS+ LCD touch screen will be taking up 4.5 inches of real-estate on the front side. Internally, if you couldn’t guess by now the Ascend D Quad will stay true to its name running with a quad core Huawei made K3V2 chip set that clocks in at 1.2 Ghz. Need more? Cool, because it will also run with graphics processing, 1 GB of RAM, 8 GB of internal storage and of course expandable micro SD memory. Around back of the slate style design sits an 8 mega pixel camera with dual LED flash. The camera can also record video in full 1080p HD. Up front a 1.3 mega pixel shooter is ready for your close up. Additional details include Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b, g, n and HDMI via micro USB. All in all the Ascend D Quad is a super powerful and highly capable smart phone, but will it be drowned out by the likes of its competition?
